Experience
Liz began her career in the newspaper and magazine industry, writing lifestyle features for Wednesday Journal, Inc., Chicago Parent magazine, Home Book magazine, and the Marietta Daily Journal. She enjoyed profiling home kitchen renovations, local restaurateurs, and neighborhood food festivals. She has also contributed weekly articles to Epic Gardening. Her culinary and mixology chops were formed during a three-year stint as a grill cook-slash-bartender at Murphy's Bleachers in Chicago, where she learned the value of a limited menu and a welcoming, well-lit room.
Education
Liz earned a bachelor's degree in communications at Loyola University in Chicago, with an emphasis in multimedia journalism. She also earned a master gardener certification, completed a CAD landscape design series at Milwaukee Area Technical College, and took advanced coursework related to growing/maintaining herbs, fruits, vegetables, and decorative/edible flowers.
