Little Debbie Drops A Holiday Twist On An 'Old-Fashioned' Treat Just In Time For Hot Cocoa Season
Every year around October, just as the embers of Halloween candy season are dying out, another treat emerges: Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes. This classic snack cake, first released in 1985, has, over the past four decades, become a certified Holiday Season staple (and also serves as the base for a great Christmas tree dip). These sprinkle-laden delights have also spawned a whole league of wintery-themed treats all decked out in Christmas cheer. And Little Debbie is not one to rest on its laurels, treat-wise. No, Little Debbie has been steadily adding to its seasonal lineup for years, and 2026 is no exception — this year's addition is extra festive.
Beginning in October, Little Debbie is rolling out its new Big Pack Christmas Old Fashioned Donuts, which meet all your festive snacking needs. These donuts are made cake-style, and feature an all-over glaze and red and green sprinkles on top for a super Christmas-y touch. These are perfect for setting out on the table on Christmas morning or as a treat throughout the season. According to some reviewers, these are similar in taste and texture to the brand's classic Donut Sticks. Each pack contains six individually wrapped donuts that can be neatly packed into stockings or lunch boxes alike.

The Big Pack Christmas Old Fashioned Donuts aren't the only new treat in Little Debbie's Christmas line-up. The snack cake company also introduced a new flavor of its Mini Muffins, and you're going to want to grab a mug for this one. Little Debbie's new Hot Cocoa Mini Muffins have a slight chocolate flavor and are studded with teeny-tiny marshmallows throughout (similar to a cup of hot cocoa). Where the new Big Pack Christmas Old Fashioned Donuts are, well, old-fashioned and more tailored to adult taste preferences, these new mini muffins are perfectly kid-friendly and ripe for lunchbox merry-making. Each box contains five pouches with four mini muffins in each pouch.
These mini muffins join the brand's regular Christmas Mini Muffins, which have a vanilla base and red and green sprinkles throughout. However, both the new Big Pack Christmas Old Fashioned Donuts and Hot Cocoa Mini Muffins focus on classic Christmas nostalgia, set apart from the brand's dominant Christmas Tree themed snacks. The new mini muffins, in particular, are unique in their lack of red and green sprinkle adornment, which was popular in discontinued Little Debbie treats like the Christmas Spice Cookie Wreaths. Instead, these little muffins have a more plain appearance. And while the donuts do have those seasonal sprinkles, they pretty clearly evoke the simple pleasures of an old-fashioned donut. What does this mean for the striped, crunchy sprinkle-topped Christmas Tree cake dominance? Only time will tell.
