This Aldi Condiment Is A '99%' Perfect Dupe Of Kinder's BBQ Sauce

Barbecue sauce is one of those classic condiments that tastes good with just about anything. Whether you use it as a marinade, a dipping sauce, or a spread, there's almost never a wrong occasion for it. If you are passionate about barbecue, you probably already know that picking the right kind of sauce can make or break your meal. While you'll find a wide range of brands out there, the best barbecue sauce might just be sitting in your local Aldi. According to customers of the German-based retailer, Burman's Mild BBQ Sauce is almost an exact dupe of Kinder's Original BBQ sauce — and it may be even better.

Aldi says that Burman's Mild BBQ Sauce offers a sweet, zesty flavor with a subtle smokiness, and many shoppers seem to agree. Not only is this sauce flavorful, but people, as one customer on Facebook put it, "We've got an Aldi dupe!! The ingredients are 99% spot on!" Indeed, Kinder's and Burman's sauces use almost all the same ingredients. Burman's uses spices such as ginger, clove, celery seed, and nutmeg powder, while Kinder's includes corn syrup (used in its Worcestershire sauce), along with other sweeteners like brown sugar and molasses. Other than that, the two sauces are comparable, but you may want to pick up Burman's for the price point alone. At Aldi, you can get Burman's for $3.29, while a bottle of Kinder's could cost you around $4 to $5 depending on where you shop. While there are plenty of Aldi dupes that don't live up to the originals, Burman's Mild BBQ sauce apparently delivers. 

While Burman's Mild BBQ sauce may look similar to Kinder's on the outside, the true test is the flavor inside. Lots of people like to upgrade store-bought barbecue sauces, but plenty of shoppers believe Burman's is delicious as is. Aldi carries three kinds of Burman's barbecue sauces (Mild, Hot Honey, and Gold), which customers have compared to their respective Kinder's flavors, and say they offer an even better taste. On another Facebook post, a user writes, "This one and the Gold are SO good very comparable to Kinder's and much cheaper." However, not every shopper out there is sold on this sauce as a Kinder's dupe. Some shoppers feel that Burman's makes a decent barbecue sauce, but it doesn't taste like Kinder's. As another person on Facebook wrote succinctly, "Kinder's is way better." But although Burman's may have a cheaper price tag, some shoppers believe paying more is worth it. Another shopper on Reddit commented, "I feel like Kinder's makes the best sauces out there right now, well worth the five or six bucks you're going to spend on them."

While Burman's Mild BBQ sauce has some Aldi shoppers on the fence, it still seems like a great buy for the price. If you're a die-hard Kinder's fan, Burman's might not impress you. However, if you're looking for a tasty barbecue sauce on a budget, Aldi is certainly a good place to shop.
