  • As a solo dweller, Luisa specializes in scaling down pastry recipes into perfectly indulgent, but practical, single-sized servings.
  • She is on a quest to try every pizza-by-the-slice spot in Chicago, and believes breakfast for dinner is wholly underrated.
  • Her travel philosophy is that sightseeing is just a convenient way to kill time between meals.

Experience

Luisa is a classically trained pastry chef and content creator with over a decade of experience turning recipes, DIY projects, and design ideas into engaging, approachable content. She launched her blog, Why Don't You Make Me?, as a creative outlet after graduating from college, earning features in Time, Food & Wine, and House Beautiful. Seeking to hone her love of baking, she attended The French Pastry School in Chicago where she focused on the art of cake decorating. She later worked at a boutique bakery in Bethesda, Maryland, and can be spotted in the premiere episode of the Cooking Channel's "Cake Hunters." Whether she's crafting desserts or DIY projects, Luisa is passionate about inspiring others to create, both in the kitchen and beyond.

Education

Luisa has a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Virginia Tech, and a certificate of pastry arts in l'art du gâteau from The French Pastry School.
