Jessica has worked as a professional writer since 2016. Originally interning at the Sunday Times in South Africa, where she's from, she has written articles on a wide range of topics, including her adventures around the world, travel advice, book reviews, and health articles for sites like Giddy. For Jessica, food has always been a window into a place's history, and with the way to her heart firmly planted in her tastebuds, food writing has always been a natural focus in her career. She joined Chowhound as a feature writer in 2024 to put her interest in food history, global culinary culture, and cooking techniques to good use by sharing it with fellow foodies.


Jessica has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Rhodes University. She majored in journalism and media studies, and zoology.
