After giving up animal products in her teens, Jill immersed herself in the world of natural foods and taught herself how to cook tofu, among other things. She has written about food and its intersection with global cultures and the environment for more than 15 years. Prior to the pandemic, Jill was a full-time editorial director focused on food and the climate and has been published on numerous food and wellness sites, including VegNews, VegOut, The Beet, and The Cool Down.


Jill studied journalism and mass communications at The University of Pittsburgh.
