At Chowhound, Dean continues his search for adequate barbecue and writes about new takes on old recipes. He was the managing editor for Vassar College's The Miscellany News, one of the oldest independent newspapers in the country. As a professional writer, he has contributed to Gotham Gazette, a political paper in New York City, and the Albany Times Union's Hudson Valley section.
