1Put the chocolate on one graham half. Toast the pumpkin marshmallow over your gas stove* and put it on top of the chocolate. Top with the other graham. Let the chocolate melt for a little, smoosh the sandwich together and dig in.
2*Alternative toasting method: Place the marshmallow on one graham half with no chocolate. Place the marshmallow-topped graham on a cookie sheet and put in your broiler for about a minute. KEEP A CLOSEEYE because the marshmallow will toast/melt quickly. Then top with the chocolate and the other graham half.
You've already cooked a homemade Thanksgiving dinner, so don't wimp out and buy a supermarket pumpkin pie. Our Easy Pumpkin Pie recipe can be made the day before, doesn't require a rolling pin, and has a filling that can be prepared in just a few minutes. The CHOW Test Kitchen's Christine Gallary shows you how.
Pastry chef Boris Portnoy gives new life to a Thanksgiving cliché. Generic, canned pumpkin pie mix plus freezer-burned pie crust equals fake smiles on the faces of your friends and families. Real smiles come from choosing your own pumpkin—there are many heirloom varieties to pick from—and then customizing and experimenting as you go, using Portnoy’s recipe as a guide.
