Blue Moon Beer Beignets

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup of Blue Mon Beer
  • 4 eggs
  • honey
  • Confectioners' sugar

My biggest food weakness are doughnuts. When I heard about beignets (French style doughnuts), I had to try them. I fell in love. They are so light and fluffy and I love the confectioners’ sugar coating. They taste less heavier than traditional doughnuts. Every time I see beignets I have to get me some. I made an “Adult” beignet version using beer.


  1. 1Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl. In another mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, eggs, and the Blue Moon Beer. Stir until everything is incorporated.
  2. 2Take the flour mixture and pour into the wet ingredients. Mix well until a firm dough forms. Cover and let dough sit in warm place for 1 hour.
  3. 3Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pot to 360 degrees F.
  4. 4Roll dough out to 1/4" rectangle, cut into 1" strips then cut the strips into 2" rectangles.
  5. 5Take the rectangular strips of dough and fry in oil until golden brown on both sides. Place on a paper towel lined plate. Continue until all the rectangular strips are fried.
  6. 6Take 2 beignets, place on a small plate. Drizzle with honey and a dusting of confectioners’ sugar. Serve Immediately.
