Zen Bistro on Alpine in Chinatown...a good value play

While Mayflower rest. downtown gets a few nods here on chowhound, I like Zen Bistro (across from Hop Li on Alpine St.) at least as well for the better, much friendlier service and reasonable specials. You can snag a nice pan-fried flounder for $4, and any order over $20 gets a generous plate of comped head-on salty shrimp. The random entrees I've ordered have been uniformly generously-portioned and enjoyable. Zilch for ambiance; if you want that, go across the street.
