This is a small, attractive space with a lot of tantalizing dishes to choose from. I wanted to try everything, but we only got to three items. We probably didn't order optimally. Not that you can go wrong, but I get the feeling from what I saw delivered to other tables, that there is a way to choose wisely.
We got the scallion pancakes, the Yu village cool noodles, and from the specials board, shengjianbao (fried on the bottom steamed dumplings.)
The scallion pancake was superbly executed and the special dumplings were ok but not as good as they could be. The cool noodles were pretty to look out with fresh green peas and shrimp, but not exciting either. There is a hot version which looked far more interesting, though on a warm spring day we went for the cool stuff.
I want to go back as some of it is extraordinary looking. This is the place to trot out the fallback mantra: "I'll have what they're having."
