Xmas Eve Dining - Going Out Seemed Very Popular This Year!

Merry Christmas Chowhounds!

Just wanted to check in, as I got just got back with my (very) small family of 3 from a delicious dinner at the Beach House in Milford. When we arrived shortly after 5, we were one of only 3 parties there - frankly, I thought we might be it. By the time we left after 7:30, the place was easily 3/4 full. A pianist played throughout dinner, everyone present seemed of (very) good cheer, and as mentioned, the food was delish.

On our way home, we passed Jeffrey's and Stonebridge (in Milford) and both were very crowded with cars. In past years, we have had a difficult time even finding spots which were open on Xmas Eve, let alone those that would fill up. I sense a shift in the tide. Perhaps it is just the idea of hosting, or the cleanup, or the travelling, but more folks seem as if they're heading out and letting others do the cooking.

I hope whether you're dining at home with family, or heading out to your favorite eatery, that you all have a safe, happy and DELICIOUS holiday!
