I went to WD-50 for the first time on Tuesday night & my god was it amazing! Truly one of, if not the best meal I've ever had. The bone marrow & foie gras appetizers were remarkable in presentation & flavor, not to mention ingenius.
The Wagyu beef with coffee gnocchi was superior to any dish I've ever had at Smith & Wollensky, BLT, DelFrisco's et al.
I finished with a 3 course dessert tasting that was brilliantly crafted & executed.
I truly can't remember the last time I had such a great dining experience & I was at Matsuhisa & Mastro's in LA last week.
I was told to be open minded & prepared for more of an experience rather than a great meal. What I received was Both.
Our server was a delight & their wine director recommended a wonderful Sake "Mirror of Truth" & a Port & an 8 yr age Cedar sake which was outstanding.
Lastly, I got to meet Wylie Dufresne at the end of the night & he was a down to earth, very approachable regular guy who was legitimately concerned with how much we enjoyed our meal.
