I went to Circa last night for an anniversary dinner and had such a beautiful meal.
The chef has restructured the menu, adding a variety of warm and cold small plates to the entrees.
Here is what we ordered, all from the small plates section:
Hungry Ghost (a local bakery that makes some of the best bread i've tasted) bread
with blended butter and olive oil
Seared scallops w. bacon and pea shoots
Mussels with chilies, garlic, and white wine
Polenta fries with a smoky tomato sauce
Beet salad w. walnut brittle and chevre
Everything was delicious, but the spicy mussels stood out as did the perfectly smoky sauce for the polenta fries.
We ended with a lemon grass creme brulee that was amazing. The lemon grass crept up on you after every bite and was a such a delicate and delicious combination with the cream.
