Just went to Wings & Strings on University.
The wings were vomit-worthy. Granted, a hot wing is by nature a deep-fried, at least marginally greasy thing, but these were honestly the worst I've ever tasted. I feel like they couldn't be bothered to discover--whether by experiment, word-of-mouth, or a look at a cookbook--at what point the chicken would be cooked, figuring deep fried is good and really really deep fried is even better.
The result is gummy on the outside, stringy on the inside. The sauce was better, but better in this case means mediocre.
That's my review. Is there a good hot wing/Buffalo wing place anywhere in the East Bay?
