West Chester: D'Ascenzo's Gelato

We ran across this little gelatoria a few sunday's ago in West Chester. It's a quaint little shop right on Gay Street (132 E Gay Street, West Chester). The night we were there, I think they had about 20+ flavors. I selected a double scoop of rum raisin on a waffle cone. Mmm, was it good. You could almost smell the rum it was that good. While they have raisins on the top of the gelato (in the case) I did not find any raisins in my actual cone. Outside of that, the gelato was very good and a nice change from our usual ice cream that we get at Woodside Farm Creamery. The s.o. had a double chocolate hazelnut, I believe, and it was delicious also.

The gelatoria is very clean and well lit. The gelato itself was creamy and very flavorful. Our two double cones came in at right around $7.00. They don't make the gelato there on the premise as the space isn't quit large enough. They do have a few tables set up on Gay Street and one in the alley where their entrance is located. Their hours/location can be found here:

A word of caution: both of our waffle cones leaked at the bottom. So be careful if you order a waffle cone. Outside of that, I would highly recommend D'Ascenzo's Gelato in West Chester.
