Let’s use this thread to share concise weekly dinner menus for each week in October. Will you be cooking with the Cookbook of the Month (COTM) crowd from MY KITCHEN YEAR: 136 RECIPES THAT CHANGED MY LIFE by Ruth Reichl? Or will you be inspired by the selected Dish of the Month (DOTM) either focaccia or kuku? Will you make something wonderful from the quarterly baking cookbook, FLOUR, by Joanne Chang?
Is it time to shake up your planning cycle with a new ingredient, technique, or pattern? Meatball Mondays or Stir-Fry Fridays or swap in Saturday slow-cooker Soups? My own plan for the month is trying new sheet pan meals. I’ve collected two cookbooks and a wealth of online recipes, and have plenty of choices. Theme two for me is winter squash – our favorite varieties are starting to show up at the store and will be featured roasted, or stuffed or in hearty soups.
We all know plans can change, so it’s fine (practically expected) when your week gets rearranged from your posted plan. You may choose to report actuals for the prior week to share ideas with others. It's helpful if you can include your location and how many people you are feeding. Links to recipes are always appreciated, and sources help.
