Walter's Place in El Rito, near Abiquiu.

We live in Abiquiu after living in Santa Fe for the past 3 years. We love it our here, Unfortunately there are not too many places to eat in the area.

El Rito is a 10 minute drive from Abiquiu. El Farolito is the place that most folks eat at for average local New Mexican Cuisine.

Across the street is Walter's Place. Very quaint, rustic..feels like you are eating at an old vacated, then somewhat renovated Hacienda. Very casual, Good Menu- Lamb with yogurt/mint sauce-Several Chicken dishes, Pork roast, Vegetarian Moussaka...Sort of a greek menu...The menu changes weekly, so I believe the cuisine does too. Price range $12-$15 with bread-olive oil for dipping- Soup or salad. No beer or wine license, bring your own. Good desserts too for only $4.

They also serve lunch and breakfasts, call for menu cuisine and days of operation (505) 581-4498
