I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet. This week's Loblaws flyer is advertising Wagyu steaks for $20/lb. I stopped at the Queens Quay location last night and they only had 4 steaks. Only one of them was even remotely marbled well. The other 3 had less marbling than the regular striploins beside them.
I bought the marbled one and grilled it in a pan on the stove. It was decent, a bit better than your typical supermarket steak but definitely nowhere near other Wagyu I've had before. It lacked the tenderness and flavour you'd expect. They claim it's been cut from USDA Prime but I definitely didn't see how the marbling qualified it for that level.
