qianning | Dec 16, 201406:19 PM     35

This month's nominations' thread was a bit subdued, but still a dozen books saw mention. Two in particular got the most attention, and so our candidates for December 2014 COTM are:

"THE HAKKA COOKBOOK: CHINESE SOUL FOOD FROM AROUND THE WORLD" by Linda Lau Anusasananan. Here's a link to the author's website for her own description of her experience and background: http://thehakkacookbook.com/about-the... For a sense of the recipes, here are a few that can be found on-line: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/19/mag... and from her website (bear in mind not all of these are necessarily in the book) : http://thehakkacookbook.com/category/...

"THE NEW ENGLAND SOUP FACTORY COOKBOOK" by Marjorie Druker and Clara Silverstein. Here's a link to Druker's web site:http://newenglandsoupfactory.com/about and for more on Silverstein: http://www.clarasilverstein.com/ As for the book, Amazon offers a "look inside" http://www.amazon.com/New-England-Sou...

To make your selection please click on the heart in the post below which names your preferred book.

Voting will close at Noon Eastern time on 22 December 2014.
