Voting thread: Cookbook of the Month January 2015

qianning | Dec 16, 201406:19 PM

This month's nominations' thread was a bit subdued, but still a dozen books saw mention. Two in particular got the most attention, and so our candidates for December 2014 COTM are:

"THE HAKKA COOKBOOK: CHINESE SOUL FOOD FROM AROUND THE WORLD" by Linda Lau Anusasananan. Here's a link to the author's website for her own description of her experience and background: For a sense of the recipes, here are a few that can be found on-line: and from her website (bear in mind not all of these are necessarily in the book) :

"THE NEW ENGLAND SOUP FACTORY COOKBOOK" by Marjorie Druker and Clara Silverstein. Here's a link to Druker's web site: and for more on Silverstein: As for the book, Amazon offers a "look inside"

To make your selection please click on the heart in the post below which names your preferred book.

Voting will close at Noon Eastern time on 22 December 2014.
