second visit to Fada (w'burg)...

second visit to fada just as bad as the first if not worse. truly mediocre french bistro on driggs in w'burg.

first visit with husband started off by being advised by the couple just finishing up their meal next to us to avoid ordering the steak frites as it wasn't up to snuff. i proceeded to order the nicoise salad (bland dressing, undercooked potatoes, tasteless tuna) and the onion soup (which was pretty decent admittedly.) husband ordered escargot (flavorless and rubbery) and fish special (passable salmon -- thoroughly uneventful.)

second visit there were three of us. a friend was willing to give it a third try -- although i think she learned her lesson after finding a rubber o-ring in her seriously under-seasoned potato-zucchini soup. we ordered steak frites and found that couple were damned straight about it not being up to snuff. frites certainly didn't go through the double fry and were comparable to your basic dinner fries... meat followed frites in quality -- you can order pepper sauce for an additional charge... in hind-sight it couldn't have hurt.

not sure how breakfast/lunch are but i'll definitely sit out the next round.
