Give it a try...! I know I know its been covered before...
My wife and I were there Friday night after 8PM, way to empty... this place deserves much much more!
We started with the Flautas de Pollo (delicious crisp flautas, perfect cheese and potato) presented in great red white and green contrasting sauces and cheese, perfect appetizer. Based on the recommendations of others on the board we also had the Fried Calamari, much better than in other places with the different sauce - the calamari were perfect crisply done, we left crumbs and scraps of both appetizers when we were finished.
We then had a delicious main course - the grilled skirt steak was cooked and flavored well, garlic and peppers on top. The rice and the corn were both devourable as well as the steak, delicious. The hometown chicken enchilada was also very good in the sauce, a perfect combination.
To round it out with the desert, the flan was very good. My wife likes it extremely sweet, but it was delicious to me, we left nothing on that. And the fabulous tres leches we took home.
All the above, as others said, including two sodas, for under $50. You can't beat that, the place needs our business... !!! This part of Queens (heck most of the eastern part of Queens) needs our business!
I plan on going back soon....and trying some of the tacos and burritos!
Very easy to get too, Roosevelt Avenue, turn on National... found parking less than a block away on the block of the elementary school. Felt safe, no worries there.
