I tried a new dish at my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Sunset, Yummy Yummy, and would be grateful if a hound out there could help me figure out one of ingredients. I would have asked if I had eaten at the restaurant, but I ordered my food to go.
Description: translucent, slightly yellow, cut into long thin strips, diameter was similar to vermicelli, texture had bite (almost like jellyfish), not much taste, served scattered over rice cake with shredded pork.
Could it have been pork skin? I'm not sure that it was even derived from an animal, but it probably was.
