Versailles Roast Garlic Chicken

kevin | Feb 4, 200607:24 PM

Went here a few days, for the 1st time, to try their famous roast garlic chicken that's supposed to be the thing to order here and greatest chicken in town.

Well, after trying it, all I can say is what's the big deal. Truly overrated chicken. Places such as Zankou and other fine purveyors of roast chicken are a million times bettter.

This place has been recommended by many of my non-houndish friends in the past, and I tried it just this past week with one of them, and yet it was a tremendous letdown. The saving grace was dipping some of the bananas, I mean fried plaintains, in the makeshift-more like just ok salad dressing garlic sauce.

As an added attraction, the bowl of black beans on the side were pretty much flavorless and not worth the calories.

I'll stop my rant now, I bet a bunch of you guys love this place with an undying devotion just like my friends.
