Praise the lord that Greg Vernick has brought his creative expertise to Philly's shores.
This evening, I spent a delightful few hours watching how they prepare the delicious vittles while enjoying a really delicious repast with friends.
All I can say is that our entire table had nothing but the highest of praise for the food. My Amish chicken was done so expertly that for once it did not taste dry and cardboardy.
The grilled bread courses are a wonderful small snack while waiting for the main courses.
Here is a place who knows that less is more (and by that I don't mean the portions which were all more than ample in size). It's just that they allow the naturalness of the food to speak for itself.
I had a lemon curd pudding for dessert that was decadently good.
The only negative is the noise factor. If you are either in the bar area or upstairs, it can get unpleasantly loud. Your best bet is the open kitchen area in the back.
A word about the service and wait staff.
We were lucky to have Ashley as our wait person. Not only was she knowledgeable but warm and friendly as well.
This place is going to be around for a long time.
