Vegetarian Visiting Oak Park/Chi-Town!

Hello, New Chowhound here!

I'm going to be visiting family in Oak Park for a few days. I'm vegetarian though no one else I'll be with is. The one thing that we all have in common is our love of food and eating out!

I'm looking for recommendations of really good moderately-priced restaurants where each of us can have a really delicious and interesting meal. The restaurants we go to do not have to be vegetarian, but should be able to prepare a creative vegetarian meal for this vegetarian using no fish, chicken, or other meat. The restaurants can be ethnic or otherwise, vegetarian or otherwise.

We've tried Blind Faith Cafe in the past and found it just so-so. The menu of the Chicago Diner is not at all appealing to us.

One of our favorite restaurants years back was Tuttaposto which hasn't existed for sometime. I believe the owner, Tony Mantuaro [sp?], is now (or was) back at Spaggia, but we won't be going there this time because as I said we want to do moderately ir inexpensively priced delicious meals this time.

What recommendations do you have for us?

Diana
