Hi! Thanks in advance.
I'm a D.C. hound who's off to Vegas w/ boyfriend in two weeks. I'm having trouble figuring out where the best dining spots are on the strip.
I did the tasting menu at Picasso when I was in Vegas three years ago. It was decent, but didn't blow me away. We ate at L'Atelier in Paris and don't want to mess w/ our lovely Robuchon memories - - so that's out of the question. I'm from Chicago, so places like Mon Ami Gabi and Ba Ba Reba are very old news. By the same token, places like Delmonico and Commander's seem best enjoyed in NOLA. I think we'd prefer spots that are unique to Vegas to branches of other restaurants.
We'll probably sneak away from the strip for Metro Pizza and LOS. Rosemary's seems a bit far w/o a car. Am I wrong?
I've been digging around here and on other news/food websites and can't figure out which restaurants we shouldn't miss. We'd like to splurge for a few meals, but don't want every lunch and dinner to be $200 plus for two. Anyone with ideas? What's really worth $200 plus for dinner?
We're staying at the Venetian ($120/night - thanks, Priceline). We'll eat anything.
