Has anyone else tried the newly-opened Buttercup Bake Shop on W. 72nd? I was lured by the pretty items into spending $1.75 on one of the driest, most flavorless cupcakes I've ever encountered. The vanilla frosting was spackle-hard and had no flavor, the (allegedly) chocolate flavored cupcake beneath it was dried out and tasted like a past-its-sell-by-date Drake's cake. I have a pretty good palate, but if I'd been blindfolded I would honestly not have been able to tell you what I was eating. I had high hopes for this place as a treat spot -- please someone tell me I just hit them at a bad moment.
