Blanking on ideas. Origin's only available time slot is 11 pm, which is later than I'd like. Most of the ladies are fairly conservative eaters (no Swish, no Kultura, no Sukhothai), whereas I'm usually underwhelmed and disappointed by bistro/comfort food in TO, so I'm hesitant to try a place like Le Rossignol or Table 17. Have thought about Weezie's, but it's recommended so frequently as a date place, that I'm not sure it's the right type of place for a ladie's night. Also have thought about Harlem, but I'm not sure what it's like around 10/11 pm on a Friday night.
Would prefer a lively atmosphere.
We could do Queen Marg, but it was fairly quiet by 10 pm last time I was there. Starfish closes at 11, so I'm sort of concerned showing up at 10/10:15 might be a little late. Has anyoen started dinner at 10 at Starfish? Are their servers likely to rush you, if you arrive that late?
Have never been to Gio Rana's or Tomi Kro (realize TK often gets mixed reviews). Thinking Gio Rana's might work, but realize they don't take reservations. Would it be likely to have a line-up at 10 pm?
Also, which bars (besides Swirl) would you recommend in Leslieville for ladies in their late 30s/early 40s?
Thanks for any suggestions or comments.
