Upcoming trip - France, Spain, England, Ireland

Barbara S | Jan 25, 200105:04 PM     5

Planning for a five week "Eurotour 2001" to begin around Feb 25. The bare bones of it right now: Paris for a few days, rent a car, drive southish near the Atlantic Coast, into Spain, westish to Barcelona, few days there, then to Lyons, back to Paris (probably via train). Train to London, few days there, possibly more, then on to Ireland. Few days in & around Cork City with family, hope a few more days further west and north. Not planning to spend time in Dublin. As you can see, nothing yet set in stone. Looking for help from chowhounds - places to stay, places to miss and must not miss, etc. I've already mined the board for existing info - looking to plug the holes in the route as outlined above. All levels of food & hotels - also, any rec's on best road guides/maps available to puchase before we go? In return I promise to post all about it. Knowing how useful the info on these boards usually is, I gratefully thank you in advance.
