I really wanted to like these guys, wanted to love these guys -- they're the Jack's Luxury Oyster Bar folks, and this is their chicken take-out joint - but I had some truly unremarkable fried chicken at DBTG. The chicken wasn't bone dry, but it was fairly dry, and suprisingly so, given that they brine. I couldn't detect the buttermilk that the chicken was dipped in. The crust was overly dense. The end result reminded me of the truly low-echelon fried chicken places -- I mean bulletproof plexiglass joints like Kennedy Fried Chicken and Crown. And for a breath-taking $6.95 (two smallish pieces) I was expecting something a bit better. In fairness, I didn't try the rotisserie chicken, and didn't have any sides -- perhaps I would have fared better. But on the basis of what I sampled, I wouldn't be wasting your Lipitor here . . .
