I decided to take a different route as part of my Concord circuit today, thinking I might go to the health food store in West Concord. As I parked my car, I espied Twin Seafood. Since I have been jonesing for seafood of various sorts and my little partner has balked at going to the clam shacks when we've been on the North Shore, I decided to give this a try.
Oh, what to select though. I decided to have a lobster roll, partly because I vaguely recalled that lobsters aren't so great from around July 4th on. As I waited, I observed various other meals emerging from the kitchen, including a grilled fish plate with an enormous portion of salmon on it. That was not specifically on the menu, so I asked and was told you can get any fish on the fish platters.... The man who seemed to be in charge was most affable and answered that and numerous other questions I had. He also gave me a small sample of clam chowder, which was quite nice--creamy, clammy, and not the least bit sour as someone else commented some time ago.
The lobster roll was PACKED with huge chunks of perfectly cooked lobster and just the right amount of mayonnaise. I was asked whether I wanted lettuce or tomato, so the succulent lobster arrived with a leaf of fresh* lettuce on a bulky roll. I couldn't decide whether it was good or bad that it wasn't on the more-standard squishy hot dog bun because we are so conditioned to that. I think it was an improvement.... :-)
The accompanying cole slaw was very plain and merited no attention whatsoever, alas, but I didn't much care, having sated myself on lobster. In fact, the price, $14.95, which seemed hefty as I contemplated the menu, did not seem unfair at all in retrospect.
I will go back and try some of their other choices in the near future.

*fresh lettuce as compared with the frequently black and moldy lettuce one seems to encounter these days, hence worth comment!
