We checked out the new Tupelo Honey franchise restaurant in Raleigh this week, and were really disappointed. After all the hype from the folks in Asheville, we expected something special -- and it wasn't.
The feel of the place was upgraded mass market chain restaurant, and the food was in keeping with that. Variations on the typical burgers, chicken, steak, and fish. What happened to the hype about "scratch-made, inventive goodness"?
In spite of their claims to being local, they were featuring beer from a brewery in California.
