Recent business trip to Bavaria -- highlights. While I'm not a fan of schnitzel or beer, I dined pretty well. Here are some highlights:
While most tourists stay in the area near Viktualienmarkt -- I got lucky and stayed in a hotel in Haidhausen. Called the French Quarter, it has charm, no crowds and the Gasteig -- cultural center of Munich. I saw one of my fave groups in concert there: Pink Martini.
Artisan Ice Cream: True & 12. Wow, what a treat, the owner makes everything in house and I loved the Asian flavors. Matcha, ginger, and the best vanilla ever. https://www.trueand12.com/
Mun Restaurant: close to my hotel and the highlight of my trip. 6-course menu with wine from a Chef that fuses Korean, Japan and China into an amazing culinary experience. Best sushi I've had in Europe (London included) and I am now a bigger fan of German wines. http://www.munrestaurant.de
Fish House: what a wonderful surprise walking around the neighborhood. This small street food stand has delectable fish soup. https://www.yelp.de/biz/fisch-h%C3%A4...
Also had some very nice Thai food at a tiny restaurant on Rosenhiemer -- but forgot the name -- near a shopping mall with grocery, drug, etc.
