Tricolorii Cafe in Sunnyside

This is a NICELY decorated opened door cafe along South 43rd Street in Sunnyside Queens, just south of Greenpoint Ave.

Me and my wife recently went back to this place after a year, it kind of has a quiet "off the beaten path" location.

This is one of 6 or 7 Romanian restaurants in Sunnyside.

I don't know much about Romanian food but we each had a couple of beautifully prepared salads and delicious appetizers (eggplant & tomatoes and fried Kascavari (sp?) Cheese with sliced tomatoes)

We were especially pleased when the wonderfully prepared desserts arrived: Forgot the names; (Possibly "Panapasi?") Fried donuts with a white cream sauce and fruit preserves served HOT ( better than it sounds! mmmm) and my wife got what looked like a nicely prepared ice cream sundae with little cream filled pastries inside.

It was nice to sit in an opened door cafe eating great food in my OWN neighborhood for once. I will be back there again soon.
