Tre Scallini - finally

Jeff | Jul 24, 2002 09:02 AM

After having posted a message asking for suggestions on Italian in South Philly I received many suggestions. I finally narrowed it down to Lauletta's Grille or Tre Scallini. Unable to get a reservation for Tre Scallini we opted for Lauletta's Grille. Late Saturday afternoon I decided to make one more call to Tre Scallini hoping for a cancellation. They told me there were none but that they would call me at my hotel if something came available. My perserverance paid off, they called to tell me of a cancellation. It was well worth the effort. Not fancy, but not dingy either. Great atmosphere....very laid back. We took a bottle of champagne and wine. The service was outstanding as was the food. Great homey Italian dishes. I had the special, black pasta with seafood and my wife had lobster ravioli. I would definitely recommend this place. Will try Lauletta's Grille next time.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

JEFF
