Over the years, a number of Boston CHs have debated the authenticity of one or two corn tortillas for the tacos they find in Boston. On their tacos, some CHs prefer one corn tortilla and some prefer 2 corn tortillas. Boston is lucky to have a great tortilla manufacturer, Ricardo and Maria's, and it appears that Boston tacquerias typically use factory made corn tortillas, either R and M, or other. La Verdad Tacqueria uses hand made/hand pressed corn tortillas made by 2 staff women whose amazing dexterity can be observed while they work at their station behind the cash register woman.
In an effort to answer the question about the ' norm' of 1 or 2 tortilla tacos in the Motherland, la linda Mexico, I posted on the Mexico CH board and here are some of their responses:
