Trading in liquor at the SAQ?

OliverB | Dec 22, 2011 11:05 AM

I received a few bottles as holiday gifts this past week that aren't of much interest and a friend told me that I could bring them back to the SAQ for refund or exchange. Is it true that they'll take back any bottles sold at outlets in Quebec? I have a handful of wines and liquors that I'd like to bring in and maybe trade for a few bottles of Bollinger or Veuve Brut for NYE; does it really work this way?

PS - does it matter if it's a vintage not listed on the SAQ website? I have some bottle of LFNG Portfolio (???) that I want to dump but I can't find it on the SAQ site for a price check. It looks like an Ontario wine.
(Edit: Just found the 2008 and it's selling for $52.25 - I have a 2009 bottle so I hope they'll take it back!)
