How to toughen up almond lace cookies?

I make a killer strawberry tart with an almond cookie cup, but I can't seem to turn out lace cookies that are crispy and delicious without being so fragile that they fall apart between the cookie sheet and the formation step. I've tried adding more flour, but that also didn't turn out a consistently more "handleable" cookie. What are some options?
