More Top Baguette

Inspired by the recent posts here by Professor Salt and others, Angler Spangler, his beautiful and mysterious wife Quyen and your humble scribe found ourselves standing at the counter at Top Baguette today for an afternoon of research.

We were greeted by a smiling man who wondered what prompted our visit as he took our order. "We found your shop on the internet" we offered..."Ah, Chowhound" came the reply. "Professor Salt..."

We had 4 sandwiches: a couple of combo specials, a meatball and a beef, all washed down with several excellent Cafe Sui Da. The sandwiches were enormous and quite delicious with high quality toothsome fillings, house-made no doubt, wrapped in a crusty baguette that is near perfection for its intended use.

My two sandwiches and coffee came to the ridiculously paltry sum of $5.00. Thanks Professor for turning us on to a true find. We'll be back...

We then headed a few blocks east to a shopping center, anchored by a very large supermarket that is also home to a shop selling really amazing BBQ duck (Peking style), and a Hong Kong style Dim Sum take-out that truly rocks. My wife is a big fan of char shu bao and we've sampled them from San Francisco to Hong Kong. Here we buy them by the dozen...
