Tony Ambrose knows how to throw a party

I know Blackfin has gotten mixed reviews here, and my one dinner didn't knock my socks off, but this is the 2nd party I've been to at his establishment (also right before Ambrosia changed over) where the food was amazing. Sushi including the awesome tempura sushi, raw bar, nice cheeses, the hugest shrimp I've ever seen, tuna tartare, crabcakes, tenderloin, veal stuffed with something or other and a chocolate bar for dessert (so much for the 1/2 lb I somehow lost during rest. week). I suppose things might have tasted better with the strong martinis and a very nice looking chef mingling, but it really made me want to try eating dinner there again.
