Tokyo - BM Steakhouse - Not good

Andy P. | Jan 21, 2001 06:34 AM

Friday night, 3 buddies and I went to the BM Steakhouse, in Meguro. What a disappointment! BTW, we comprised of 2 Canadians, and 2 Americans, all beef lovers.

One member of our party ordered the top sirloin (medium). One ordered the "garlic and butter" sirloin (medium rare). Lance (medium well) and I (rare) each ordered the jumbo steak. Each steak was cooked perfectly to order. The garlic and butter steak is actually just a sirloin steak, with about 1/2 cup of garlic butter placed on top of it. The top sirloin looked like a standard, small top sirloin. But, our jumbo steaks were from a cut of meat that not a single one of us could identify. If you are craving a stringy, chewy beef(?), this is right up your alley.

After our side orders of salads were finished (so mediocre as to not waste space describing), the steaks arrived. As we started eating, the common comment regarded total lack of flavor in the meat. So, we started sharing, just to confirm our displeasure. Sure enough, this place serves the most unflavorful steaks that any of us could remember. As a group, we lamented our decision to go here, instead of the "Outback Steak House", in Shinagawa.

The best thing garnered from this experience is the knowledge that I never want to go their again.

Yoroshiku,
Andy
