They serve standard dim sum everyday, but on weekends, there's a supplementary menu (written in Chinese only).
you tiao (Chinese crullers) - enormous, freshly fried, golden brown, shatteringly crisp, so hot you had to use utensils to separate the two massive halves
do jiang (soy milk) - both sweet and salty. Salty soy milk is slightly thickened (soy protein coagulates in the presence of salt, I'm told) and had some pickled vegetable and extra-crispy bits of you tiao in the middle.
zi mi ba bao (purple rice congee) - this was the first time I've had this - it's slightly sweetened, with a savory porky undertone that must be from lard. Delicious.
cao bing (sesame flatbread) - unusually flaky and fragrant. I think it's from lard, too.
xian fan tuan (salty rice roll) - a roll of sticky rice wrapped around zhou cong (meat fried to the texture of sawdust, one of my favorite snacks as a child,) extra crispy you tiao, and pickled vegetables - basically, a portable bowl of congee.
yu jiao (leek and fish dumplings)- ethereally light, fluffy filling, wrappers slightly doughier than optimal, but still delicious.
I've had their standard dim sum, which is pretty good, but today's brunch was outstanding. The restaurant's name is evocative of gloppy beef and broccoli served on Uncle Ben's, the location is in a nondescript strip mall anchored by Mervyn's, and the decor is circa 1980 pink and teal. But the food is excellent. There's virtually no overlap between the English and Chinese menus, so if you can't read Chinese, bring someone who can.
