Thinking of making homemade marshmallows

After reading that marshmallow fluff post below. I usually use the epicurious recipe, but I wondered if anyone here ever made marshmallows using another variation in flavorings, shapes, etc.

One thing I've considered is making smores: Instead of putting the marshmallows in a pan to firm up, spreading them on graham crackers, letting them firm, then dipping or drizzling in chocolate.
