Last night I got some take-out from the new Thai restaurant on Smith between Wyckoff and Bergen (just next to the butcher). I had a beef salad: crisp chunks (not just leaves) of iceberg lettuce, scallions, tomato, onion, chilis and slices of grilled beef. I asked for it medium and it was quite, but pleasantly, spicy. It also signalled to me that they don't interpret "medium" as "I'm scared of anything hot." And it was delicious, under $6 and big enough for a light supper. I also had a cup (more like a bowl) of the chicken-mushroom-galangal-coconut soup (whose name escapes me) which was also delicious. While I waited for my order, they brought me a glass of water; they couldn't have been nicer.
Has anyone else tried Thai Sesame? I really enjoyed my dinner and encourage all you Bococa types to stop in for a meal.
P.S. Caserta Vecchia has reopened (Smith around Butler; former location of Spanish restaurant) and it is still the friendly and exacting Neapolitan pizzeria-trattoria that it was before the fire.
