tartine going downhill?

i used to consider tartine one of my go-to places for a great brunch and a solid, casual dinner.

on the last few visits, though, i've been very underwhelmed. the portions seem smaller and the preparation seems to be slightly off. for instance, all of the much-ballyhooed egg dishes, including the omelette and the eggs florentine, failed to impress as they always had. perhaps they don't use the high quality of eggs as they used to, or again, maybe it's the preparation...i don't know.

to add insult to injury, their prix fixe brunch has gone up from an extremely reasonable $10 to $13. doesn't seem like a big deal until you consider all the great brunch places downtown that serve better food for comparable prices.

does anyone know what's going on with tartine these days? did they switch chefs recently? or are they simply coasting?
