Taqueria Taqueria Tlaquepaque Willow Glen

Ken Hoffman | Jan 15, 200301:35 PM

Taqueria Tlaquepaque, is a neighbourhood institution, very busy at lunch, somewhat busy at dinner. Don't ask for a take out menu because they don't have one. The foyer has a colorful tile mosaic and the waitstaff is attentive and friendly. I had the Steak Tlaquepaque,
listed as the house specialty. At $9.95 you get a thin piece of tender beef smothered in whole grilled scallions, white onion and bell pepper. It comes with whole pinto beans, spanish Rice and two flour or corn tortillas. My buddy had a good looking beef taco and tamale. The portions were generous but not obscenely large. Great down home no frills atmosphere. Good margaritas.
