Tango Sur (Review)

G Wiv | Dec 28, 200303:50 PM

I hadn't been to Tango Sur, the Argentinean steak house, for 6-7 months and was somewhat surprised to see they more than doubled their space by taking over the next storefront South. I found the new addition very pleasant and was, obviously, not alone as the restaurant was full to capacity. We had a short wait, in Tango Sur's new waiting area, which consisted of a small room with, what appeared to be, church pews. I liked the cozy little room and thought it would be perfect for a small private party.

Even though the restaurant was buzzing with activity service was quite good, no wait on water, menus, wine glasses or the excellent crisp/warm/light rolls. The steaks and chimichurri sauce were excellent, as always, and Tango Sur resisted the urge to raise prices, my favorite share for the table grilled short ribs is still an incredibly reasonable $11.90. Our total, with tax, but not tip, for 3 was $77, and this is with appetizers, the beef empanada was particularly good last evening, main courses, which include salad, 3 coffees and one share dessert.

Tango Sur is BYOB, no corkage fee, and they provide very smooth wine service, opening bottles, replacing wine glasses as needed and in general paying attention to the diner.
