A Tale of Two Dim Sums

Could someone provide any 411 on that place between McD's and Pasteur? The one that looks 10 times bigger and 10 times older than any other place in Boston? "Empire", was it?

On the other end of the district, what's the deal with that oddball 6-story place with a pagoda on top? Looks like a air traffic control tower. Is that by any chance the oldest restaurant in Chinatown?

We used to enjoy a place 1 block or 2 before that, but it seems to have disappeared in the past few years. "Golden Palace" or something like that.

Have since then tried most places around the district, but those two super-old-looking places intrigue me most.
