Went to this Japanese restaurant in Whitestone with a relative who highly recommended it and had surprisingly good sushi there.
In particular, two of their special rolls were just so delicious. One was Takara Maki - its' a shrimp tempura roll w/ eel and avocado on top. The tempura was so soft and fried just right that it melted in my mouth. Somehow all the different tastes and textures fit together. If you don't like eel, the Green Mountain is the same thing w/o the eel on top. We also ordered a tuna roll, and while it was fresh, it paled in comparison to the special rolls.
If you go, you also need to also have the Fried Tofu w/ Chef special sauce as an appetizer. It comes in a neat little dish. The tofu was tender on the inside and fried well on the outside. The slightly spicy and sweet sauce, however, was what made this dish really yummy.
I just went there this once and the little cozy place (7-8 tables) was packed on a weeknight, so that's a good sign that it's a good regular place for lots of people.
